Exercise Physiology

Did you know that doing the right type and volume of exercise during cancer treatment supports better health outcomes? Research has shown exercise during treatment is associated with:

  • Reduced fatigue, nausea and pain
  • Improved cardiovascular function
  • Improved immune function
  • Improved strength and flexibility
  • Reduced stress, depression and anxiety
  • Reduced time spent in hospital
  • Improved chemotherapy completion rates

Ethos Health is part of the Hunter Cancer Centre and offers exercise physiology services to people during and after cancer treatment. Our experienced exercise physiologists work closely with your treating medical or radiation oncologist to design an exercise program that is safe and effective. This may include individual assessments, home or gym-based routines, and a small group exercise program (C-Fit) run from the Lake Macquarie Specialist Medical Centre. The C-Fit classes are generously part-funded by Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and Genesis Cancer Care, as part of their commitment to holistic, best-practice cancer care.
