Chemotherapy at Home

Chemotherapy is a group of drugs that may be toxic to people and the environment. You might be receiving chemotherapy while at home. We have a couple of important points for you to read.

  • If you are taking chemotherapy tablets it is important that you avoid touching the tablet. You can do this by tipping the tablet into the lid of the bottle and then into a medication cup.

  • Chemotherapy tablets are not be crushed or broken in half. The tablets are to be swallowed whole.

  • After taking the tablet, wash your medication cup in warm soapy water (normal household washing liquid is fine).

  • Please make sure that your medication is safely stored away from children.
